REPARTNERING: contact improvisation & Body-Mind Centering®, March 14 & 15
A Two-Day immersion in Contact Improvisation & Body-Mind Centering®
Hosted by Oslo Kontaktimpro in collaboration with Olive Bieringa and Otto Ramstad
Through embodied exploration of bones, fascia, organs and developmental movement we will discover partnering that is effortless, intentional, and alive.
Day One: Inner Architectures
We will begin by awakening anatomical and physiological precision, embodying our structural support of skeleton and fascia, and dropping into the dimensionality and metabolic power of our organs. Through guided movement, touch, and attention, we will identify, articulate, and integrate the body’s tissues, discovering the distinct movement qualities they offer.
Day Two: Developmental and Evolutionary Beings
We’ll journey from micro to macro, from cellular breathing to group flying. We will discover the relationship between the smallest inner activity and possibilities for expansive movement through space together, aligning inner intelligence with outer expression.
Olive Bieringa and Otto Ramstad collaborate as the BodyCartography Project for 27 years, creating performances, films, installations, festivals, and workshops internationally. They have studied, practiced and performed contact improvisation for over thirty years with Steve Paxton, K.J Holmes, Karen Nelson, Scott Wells amongst many others. They teach contact improvisation, dance improvisation, Paxton’s Material for the Spine, Tuning Scores, site dance, ecosomatics, DanceAbility® and Body-Mind Centering®. They are on the board of PRAXIS Oslo and direct the Somatic Movement Education certification program for Somatic Education Australasia in Melbourne.
