Join us for a six-week exploration of movement, perception, and embodied awareness through the rich and transformative practice of Body-Mind Centering®.

Using movement, touch, voice, and guided somatic inquiry, we will deepen our relationship to the living intelligence of the body. Each week, we will explore a different geographic regions of our bodies. We will come into relationship with our bones, organs, fluids, fascia,  endocrine, and nervous systems to bring more clarity, ease and expression to our being, moving, and consciousness.

Body-Mind Centering® is an approach to movement exploration and embodiment founded by Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen. It is based on experiential learning and uses movement, touch, and voice to explore anatomy, kinesiology, physiology, embryology, and developmental movement.

This class is open to movers of all backgrounds, including dancers, performers, bodyworkers, educators, therapists and anyone curious about deepening their embodied experience.

Olive Bieringa is an artist and movement therapist working at the intersection of social and creative practice and pedagogy. She is Certified Movement Therapist (ISMETA), Infant Developmental Movement Educator® and Body-Mind Centering® Teacher and Program Director of Somatic Education Australasia. She holds a BA in Dance from European Dance Development Center in the Netherlands and an MFA in Performance and New Media at Long Island University in Brooklyn, NY. She is a doctoral candidate at the Theatre Academy, Uniarts Arts, Helsinki. She founded BodyCartography in 1997 in San Francisco with Otto Ramstad.
