Full of artifice and animal appetites, Super Nature engages the wild, the domestic, and the civilized aspects of human nature to create a radical ecological melodrama. An intimate installation also called Super Nature functions as part one. It is built for a gallery space and an audience of one. The theater work functions as part two.
"Across the synapses between sensation and thought, the animal and the human, the ecological and illogical, the participants in Super Nature roared, howled, tingled, and leapt, flinging themselves over to feel out the distance and, for a moment, close the gap between the animal spirits and what it means to act naturally." J. Kramer
In Super Nature directors Olive Bieringa and Otto Ramstad are joined by Bessie award winning composer Zeena Parkins and visual artist Emmett Ramstad. The core cast includes dancers Justin Jones, Timmy Wagner, Emily Johnson, Anna Shogren, Otto Ramstad, Dolo McComb, Francesca Mattavelli, Patrice Scanlon and special guests.
